Iraqi officials: Rocket attack hits US troop base
BAGHDAD (Staff) – Rocket fire hit a base owned by US and other coalition forces north of Baghdad on Saturday, Iraqi security officials said, just days after a similar attack killed three soldiers, including two Americans. The US-led coalition said at least 25 107mm rockets hit Camp Taji just before 11am. Some hit the area where coalition forces are stationed, while others fell on air defense units, the Iraqi military said in a statement. According to US-led coalition spokesman Myles Caggins, five people were injured in the attack, including three coalition members and two Iraqi soldiers.
