The earthquake originated in the Bali Sea about 3.55 local time (5.55am AEST) at a depth of about 515km below the ocean surface. There is no tsunami threat to Australia, according to the Bureau of Meteorology. One said she woke to her 'whole villa shaking', describing it as a 'frightening' experience.
