Throughout September 2023, UMW Toyota Motor has sold a total of 9,228 cars under the Toyota and Lexus brands. This comprises 9,020 cars from the Toyota brand and 208 cars from the Lexus brand. The company's total year-to-date (YTD) sales as of September 2023 are now at 76,511 units compared to 70,872 units it achieved in the same period last year. This marks an 8.0% year-on-year (YOY) rise in the company's YTD sales for the first nine months of 2023. Just last month, UMW Toyota Motor gave its Toyota Yaris hatchback an update , which saw the car gaining a couple of features.

Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) has expanded the Ioniq 6 range here in Malaysia with two new entry-level variants to the Ioniq 6. The new Lite RWD and Plus RWD variants will join the Max RWD and Max AWD that debuted in July earlier this year , for four variants in total. Peugeot's new pick-up truck – the 2023 Peugeot Landtrek was launched by the brand's official distributor in Malaysia – Bermaz Auto Alliance earlier this year. Offered in a single variant only, the ‘Allure', the Peugeot Landtrek is priced at RM120,072 (OTR, without insurance). The new Toyota Century SUV has just been unveiled today and will be making its Japanese market launch this year. Just in case you are worried if the Century sedan is axed, it's not and will continue to be sold alongside the new Century SUV. Toyota describes the Century SUV's exterior design theme as the 'stately grandeur'. It essentially looks like a heightened Century sedan and has kept many of the sedan's iconic design elements. At the front is the Toyota Century's iconic phoenix emblem. Certain parts of its painted surfaces have been polished to achieve a mirror finish.

The transport ministry has announced that it is merging the KPP01 course and theory test – the first step in obtaining a licence in Malaysia – for both the Malaysian motorcycle class and motorcar driving licence (LMM). This means that effective September 15 , 2023 , any individual who currently holds either a motorcycle class or motorcar LMM planning to obtain a LMM of a different class than their existing licence no longer needs to repeat the KKP01 course and theory test. For instance, if an individual has passed the KPP01 theory test for a motorcycle driving licence, he or she will no longer need to go through the KPP01 course or theory test again for the second time when obtaining a motorcar LMM.

Tesla Malaysia is currently offering its Home Charging Programme, where customers who purchase a Tesla vehicle will get one unit of the Tesla Wall Connector (worth RM 2,880) for free. The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) today published its latest forecasted total industry volume (TIV) figures for 2023, which has now risen to 652,500 passenger cars and 72,500 commercial vehicles, for a total of 725,000 units this year. The new figure represents a significant increase of 11.5% over its original forecast of 650,000 total vehicles, which it published in January this year, and also represents a slight jump of 4,342 units over last year's actual TIV. In a press conference today, MAA said that the revised forecast was made on the basis of a stabilised economic outlook for the nation, improved automotive supply chain, as well as healthy sales figures for many new models – particularly 'very affordable models' by national makes, among other factors.

Porsche has set a new record for the 'fastest single journey in an EV from Thailand to Singapore' with a Taycan 4S Cross Turismo , completing the run in just 29 hours and 15 minutes .
