Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman expressed optimism, in interview published on Friday, that India could achieve its nominal economic growth target of 10.5% this fiscal year, and hinted that growth took priority over taxing diesel vehicles. "I would like to believe that we will achieve the target," Sitharaman told the Business Standard newspaper. India's fiscal year begins on April 1. Nominal gross domestic product growth fell to a 10-quarter low of 8% in the June-quarter. The Albanese Government has released a discussion paper seeking feedback from stakeholders on the new standards for skilled migration assessing authorities. The paper sets out draft principles and standards, outlines current skills assessment practices and proposed improvements to the way that skills assessments are conducted. The ACCC is encouraging businesses to review their standard form contracts and remove or amend any unfair contract terms before new penalties take effect. From 9 November, changes to the Australian Consumer Law will prohibit businesses from proposing, using, or relying on unfair contract terms in standard form contracts with consumers and small businesses. Taipei, Sept. 8 (CNA) Taiwan's proposed wage hike of 4.05 percent in the minimum monthly wage reflects price rises of daily necessities -- the most significant in recent years -- and is expected to benefit 1.79 million workers, the Ministry of Labor (MOL) said on Friday. If approved by the Cabinet, the monthly minimum wage will increase from NT$26,400 (US$825) to NT$27,470, according to the MOL. That will benefit 1.79 million workers, including about 341,800 migrant workers, but not migrant caregivers or domestic helpers, whose minimum wage is not covered by Taiwan's Labor Standards Act.
